the proposal
the wedding

The night Erik proposed was amazing. He took Crystal on a date similar to our first fancy date in Cincinnati. We went to Scotti's, a small Italian restaurant downtown, and then ice skating. Then we headed up to Eden Park, our favorite overlook in the city, and a park that Crystal loves to go to with the cats and feed the ducks. We went to the overlook first but it was freezing and the wind was blowing so it made it a million times colder. Instead we headed over to the bridge, where we stood holding each other. Erik asked Crystal if she wanted her present (she knew of a "Valentine's Day present" she was getting), and then he got down on one knee and pulled out the ring. He opened it and there was a little light inside the top of the box, shining down on the ring...and he asked her to marry him. Crystal started crying and kept asking Erik if he was serious...he finally asked her for a yes or no. Of course she said yes!  He gave her the ring to put on, and we headed back to the truck hugging each other, freezing.
